Ingredients
  

  • For Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • For Filling
  • 2 ½ pounds apples peeled, cored, and cut into small pieces
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. With a nonstick cooking spray, lightly spray an 8 or 9 inch baking dish an put aside.
  • To prepare the Crumble Topping: Combine the brown sugar, all purpose flour, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon in a medium mixing bowl. Add in the melted unsalted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly.
  • To prepare the Filling: Combine apples you peeled, cored, and cut into small pieces with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch and ground cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
  • To assemble and bake the apple crumble: Place the apple mixture in your prepared casserole dish and spread to get an even layer. Add the crumble mixture on top; it should evenly cover the filling. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until it gets a nice golden brown color on top. Let it cool for a while, then serve with ice cream if preferred.
