Add the ground beef to a large cast iron pan set over medium heat, and cook until a deep brown crust appears (5-6 minutes) before breaking the beef into small pieces with a wooden spoon.
Remove the ground beef and set aside, then drain out any excess grease in the pan. (you can leave the rendered fat if that’s what you prefer)
Add butter to the pan. Once melted, add onion and bell pepper.
Let the vegetables brown and the onions turn translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
Add your beef back into the pan after turning the heat to low. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Mix your ingredients together and cook for about a minute.
Add cornstarch to the pan and stir for about a minute. This thickens the liquid to the desired consistency.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of water if your beef looks dry.
Turn off the heat. Top your ground beef with cheese slices. Let it set for 1-2 minutes to melt.
Remove from heat, and serve onto your toasted brioche rolls.
