Japanese Tsukune Recipe

These Japanese Tsukune Meatballs are Fragrant, Tender, and Exceptionally Delicious!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch sub with tapioca flour
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 tablespoons cooking wine sub with broth
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 inch ginger grated
  • Oil sesame or vegetable
  • Toasted sesame seeds hemp seeds, seaweed, orange and tangerine peel, ginger, and peppercorn.

Instructions
 

  • To prepare the sauce; mix 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 3 tablespoons of cooking wine and 1 tablespoon of sugar and set it aside for later.
  • Mix the ground meat with the ginger in a large bowl. Add in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 egg and 1 tablespoon starch and knead to combine.
  • Form 2 inches balls using the meat mixture and cook them in a pan over medium heat until all sides turn brown. Put the lid on the pan, lower the heat and let the meatballs cook.
  • Take off the lid, remove any excess oil and push the meatballs to the sides. Add the previously prepares sauce in the center of the pan and cook on low heat until it starts to thicken. Push back the meat balls to the center and turn them over to coat evenly with the sauce.
  • Serve the meatballs in skewers, over cooked rice or a bed of steamed veggies. Enjoy!
