Easy Healthy Apple Nachos Recipe – A Simple, Quick, and Delicious Vegan Snack!

This is one of my favorite healthy and tasty summer snacks. It’s my current obsession, I’m fascinated with these apple nachos. I’ve been having this snack literally every day for the past two weeks and I just can’t get enough. It’s so easy to make; all you got to do is cut up some fresh apples into thin slices, drizzle all over with your favorite warm and melty nut butter then top with some chocolate chips, coconut flakes, cinnamon or any other healthy toppings you prefer.
You’ll end up with the most beautiful and appetizing healthy snack you’ve ever seen!
These tasty apple nachos are done in less than 5 minutes. They’re also healthy and could be made even healthier based on your chosen toppings or dips. This recipe makes the perfect snack for a light breakfast or lunch. It’s a great treat to have next to you while you’re studying, watching TV, or chatting with your family or friends.

What ingredients do I need for this recipe?

Apple Nachos

2 large or medium sized apples
¼ cup nut butter
Good quality chocolate chips (small handful)
Shredded coconut (small handful)
Slivered almonds (optional small handful)
A sprinkle of cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice (optional: to keep the apples from browning)

How to make these easy crispy apple nachos:

STEP 1: Prepare the apples
Wash and drain the apples. Cut the apples to remove the core and seeds. Slice into ¼ or ½ inch slices (choose whatever thickness you prefer). Place in a small bowl with the lemon or lime juice.

STEP 2: Prepare the nut butter
Heat your chosen nut butter until warm and runny, this helps to easily drizzle it on top of the apple slices. Warm it in the microwave for 20 seconds or over the stove by using a silicon bowl in pot half filled with water.

STEP 3: Assemble
Lay your thin apple slices on a serving plate to form a circle as shown in the picture. Drizzle with some nut butter in a circular motion or forming straight lines or zing zag with a spoon or a pipping bag- just do whatever feels right!

Garnish with chocolate chips and coconut flakes, almonds and drizzle some cinnamon on top. Enjoy!

I don’t know of many people who love eating apples on their own, including myself. Apples are my least favorite fruit, but since I tried having them this way, I became totally obsessed with this snack. In case you’re not a big fan of apples or if you’re a bit of a picky eater, try this apple nachos recipe, it’s sure going to be your new favorite healthy snack. Eat your apple slices with any toppings you like, dip in honey, caramel or drizzle with your favorite nut butter and brace yourself for great flavors with every single bite!
This is the perfect snack to eat guilt free for any sudden evening or night cravings. My pregnant best friend loves having this snack whenever she desires something sweet and crunchy.

Helpful Tips and Variations:

What apple works best for this recipe? I usually use granny smith apples, red gala apples or whatever apples available at home. I prefer to make this recipe with green apples; but you could totally use red apples, if you like a sweeter, juicier bite or even a combination of both.
Which nut butter to use? I prefer to use almond butter, but you can use peanut butter, sunflower butter or your favorite nut butter, either creamy or crunchy.
What’s a nut butter alternative? If you have a nut allergy. You can skip using almond butter and replace it with some Tahini or melt some nut-free chocolate of your liking.
What can I use as a topping? Use whatever toppings you prefer, this step adds a significant texture and flavor to the dish. You can use some Maple syrup, honey, cacao nibs, raisins or currants, or your favorite granola.
Can I store leftovers? Keep any apple nachos leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Can I meal prep this recipe? Certainly! This is a good healthy and delicious snack to have at hand. Just make sure to add lemon juice to keep the apples from browning.

How can I serve these Apple Nachos?

Top your apple nachos with some warm and runny almond nut, coconut flakes, chocolate chips and cinnamon. If you’re having this snack with a large group of people with different tastes.
