Helpful Tips and Variations:

Which tomato should I use? It’s important to choose nice juicy ripe tomatoes for this Marinated Tomatoes to get the best flavors. You can use Roma tomatoes, Italian tomatoes or cherry tomatoes for a bite sized salad.
How can I replace red wine vinegar? It’s best to use red wine vinegar for this salad; it’s flavorful and less sharp. If you can’t however, you can replace with balsamic vinegar.
What can I use instead of red onion? You don’t have to worry about the sliced red onions, they taste better and lose their harsh taste when marinated; you can replace with red pickled onion, leeks, chives, shallots, or white onion.
Is it ok to use dried herbs instead of fresh herbs? When it comes to salads, I prefer to use fresh herbs as they usually add more flavor to the dish. They also add a lovely contrast making the dish brighter and more inviting. This being said, you can still use dried herbs if you prefer. Just make sure to use smaller quantities as they are stronger in smell and taste.
What can I use as a topping? Using one simple item as a garnish can turn your recipe into an elegant looking dish. Even though this salad looks amazing as it is. You can still top your juicy Marinated tomatoes with crumbled feta cheese, crushed nuts, or roughly chopped basil.
How can I store leftovers? For the best texture and flavor, I don’t recommend keeping this salad for longer than 10 hours after marinated. But you can definitely refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
