Ingredients to make this cream dip:
1 cup Mayonnaise
2 teaspoons dried dill
2 tablespoons dried parsley
¼ teaspoon Lawry’s salt
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1 cup sour cream (whole fat)
1/8 teaspoon ground pepper
Instructions:
Take a medium glass bowl, add the mayonnaise, whole fat sour cream, dried minced onion, dried dill, dried parsley. Season with some salt and pepper then mix up all the ingredients to combine.
Once combined, use plastic wrap to safely cover the glass bowl. Leave in the fridge for a few hours, or overnight. This step makes sure the flavors blend together nicely and for the onion to soften as well. (if you want to serve the same day, sub the minced onion with powder onion, or you can keep the minced onions if you don’t mind the crunch).

Helpful Tips and Variations:
Which mayo sauce is best for this recipe? For this cream dip I use Hellman’s Reals mayonnaise, but you can use any mayo at hand.
How to substitute Lawry’s salt? Lawry’s Real seasoning has a nice mix of salt, paprika, garlic, turmeric and celery. However, it’s not totally necessary, you can use any mix of dip seasoning you prefer, such as ranch seasoning or you could simply use the right amount of salt.
What about a mayonnaise sub? If you’re not into mayonnaise taste, it’s completely understandable. You can replace with an unflavored Greek yogurt.
What’s a good substitute for sour cream? Full fat Greek Yogurt or cream cheese make a good substitute for sour cream, they have a very close flavor and texture.
Can I add other ingredients? You can add some jalapeno for a little heat. You could also add some shredded bacon or some Parmesan or Cheddar cheese for a cheesy gooey dip. If you like your dips to have a little zesty flavor, you can squeeze a little lemon juice, or throw in some lemon zest.
Can I store this dipping sauce in the fridge? This homemade sour cream dip should be placed in an airtight container. It will keep for 5 to 7 days in the fridge. Even though, you can totally freeze dips for up to 2 months in the fridge. I don’t really recommend doing it, once it defrosts, it becomes grainy and like most dairy products, a little watery.
Can I make this recipe in advance? Absolutely! This is the cold kind of dip and it’s best served cold, so the longer it sits, the better it tastes, as the spices and herbs blend together.
