Knowing how to make top-notch hard-boiled eggs is an essential skill to learn, so to get the best results, make sure to follow these simple steps to the letter and keep in mind that reaching the desired texture is all about cooking TIME!
Fill up a medium sized pot with enough water to cover the eggs by about 1 inch and let it boil.

In the meantime, get the eggs out of the fridge and set them on the counter to bring to room temperature. Fill a bowl with ice and water to make an ice bath and put it aside.

However, it’s fair to say that’s absolutely ok to start with cold water if you’re afraid to overcook or undercook your eggs.
Is it necessary to put the eggs in ice water? Absolutely! It only takes one simple mistake to ruin these hard boiled eggs. This step prevents the eggs from continuing to cook, it cools them down easily ensuring easier peeling process.
Is there a different way to cook hard-boiled eggs?. The traditional stovetop method is easy and simple, but you can also cook the eggs in the microwave by placing them in a microwave safe bowl filled with enough water and cook on medium power for 4 to 6 minutes, let them sit in the hot water for couple minutes before transferring to an ice water bowl.
How can I store any leftovers?. You can store any unpeeled eggs for up to 7 days in the fridge, if they’re peeled however, they would last up to 2 days.
