Helpful Tips and Variations:

Soft tortillas vs hard taco shells: For this recipe, I use flour tortillas, they are a bit softer than corn tortillas, but for an extra crunchy bite, you can use a hard taco shell. Whatever taco shell you choose to use, make sure to warm or bake until crispy.
Ground beef: I prefer to use lean ground beef (70%), if you prefer to work with fatty meat, make sure to drain the excess grease before adding the tomato paste and seasoning. To switch things up a bit, you can also use some ground chicken, pork, or turkey. The taste will differ a bit, but it will still be delicious.
Shredded cheese: I prefer to use cheddar or Monterey jack. You can also use Mozzarella, Parmesan or pepper jack.
Taco seasoning: I use a store bought packet of taco seasoning, but if you have the time, I recommend making your own homemade seasoning so you can customize it to your own taste.
Additional Ingredients:
For more flavor, you can use some fresh garlic.
For a touch of heat, thrown in some sliced jalapenos.
To add more color, add some chopped tomatoes, shredded iceberg lettuce or chopped cilantro.
Storing: It is safe to store your cooked ground beef mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. You can reuse your taco filling leftovers in other recipes, like a taco salad, taco stuffed peppers, taco meat soup or even as a topping for your spaghetti.

How can I serve these crispy ground beef tacos?

For a large family or friends’ gathering serve your scrumptious ground beef tacos as a main dish with some spicy Tex-Mex salad, Mexican rice, fried beans or a fresh pineapple salsa. Pair with your favorite beverages and get ready to hear tons of compliments from everyone!
